  when asked about his religion & belief, he would tell people that his family are jws, and he used to be one.

  but still he is very much against christmas and birthdays.

  he seems to have no issue with new year.

  Until such time as he realises that he has been scammed by the WT, he is damaged goods. I hope you two don't have any kids yet.

  There are no quick fixes for his condition. He has to confront his demons and he doesn't want to do that, and you probably don't have the skills to make him do it. All I can suggest is to keep asking him questions, then not letting him weasel his way out of answering them honestly and giving him a guilt trip for any bullying, or dishonesty, that he uses on you to fool you into accepting crap answers or diversions.

  Guilt mode. STFU mode. Damage control mode.

  He is a true believer dealing with the fear, guilt etc., of not being a practicing, preaching witness of Jehovah, which means that Jehovah is going to kill him quite soon ... and then his problems will be over

  .... suicide with an imaginary gun.

  Do You Honestly Believe That You Would Have Officially Left The JW Religion If They Didn't Shun You?

  i left as an inactive person.

  i pretty much have been left alone by the elders and witnesses, as far as being hounded.. i know of many that either disassociated or got disfellowshipped.. i'm wondering if you think you would have remained a jw, in name only, if the religion (cult) didn't shun and penalize as they do..

  A normal walking pace would get a man from Egypt to Canaan in less than a week just walking six hours a day. To take 11-13 months to reach Canaan, they might be travelling only far enough each day to get away from the smell of the ring of excrement from 2 million people that is surrounding last night's camp.

  Did the person who told you they were spiritually blinded show you this from a Bible, or were they making it up?

  Surprised myself by sitting down with a map and a calculater and working out how just big that desert was for a man on foot. Realised that it would have been rediculous to be 'lost' for even a few weeks in such a small area.

  i was told a very heartbreaking story last night.

  one of my childhood friends adopted two kids from africa several years ago.

  these kids have had very severe anger management issues and have been in regular therapy.

  Disassociation

  hi all, i haven't posted here in quite some time.. just as an update, about two years ago, my wife and i moved to a big city about 500 miles away from the town in which we grew up.

  we made this move in part to expedite the fading process, which was successful.

  when we moved, as i described in an earlier post, we formally transferred from our home cong (where our families are) to a local cong in our new city, and then transferred twice more so as to get lost in the shuffle.

  You haven't left anything real. It isn't Jehovah's Organisation, it's just a bunch of deluded fools pretending they represent a god a previous fool named Jehovah.

  Why make it official that you don't belong to something that doesn't exist? I reckon it just feeds their delusion that they are important.

  Plus ... if you ever want to have an intelligent discussion with a JW, you have to do it while their defences are down, which is why the WT wants you to have DA tattooed on your forehead to ID you as an evil Apostate. Play by their rules ... and they win.
